Cylindrical asci with two small dots as apical apparatus. Ascospores in asci and loose ascospores. Note also the outer peridium of the ascomata with ostiole.
SPECIES NAME:
Pseudorhypophila mangenotii. A new genus, Pseudorhypophila was created for this species based on molecular sequencing (Harms et al. 2021).

SPECIES DESCRIPTION:
ostiolate ascomata globose, moderate size (200-300µ dia), outer peridium textura angularis, sparsely scattered on substrate; asci uniseriate, 8-spored, 80-100×15-20µ; spores 2-celled, dark brown triangular upper cell, rounded hyaline basal cell, 20-25×9-12µ.
There are few reports of this species, most from cultures. This collection may be one of the first from a known substrate.
